How to Write a Love And Romance Poem

By Jennifer Williams

There are many ways to express your love and devotion to that special someone in your life. These expressions of love could be in the form of gifts which can include expensive jewelry, flowers, candy, etc.

In addition to presenting these gifts, a creative individual can perform small acts of devotion that indicate to the other individual how much they are appreciated. These small acts of gratitude can be in the form of a back or foot massage, doing small chores around the home, etc.

However, nothing quite says "I love you" like a love and romance poem. A love and romance poem, that is sincere and straight from the heart, can be a powerful way of expressing what you are feeling for another human being. It does not need to be fancy nor does it even need to rhyme. It simply needs to be sincere.

Getting Inspired

If you have decided to write a love and romance poem there are many available resources to help you in generating inspiration. Some of these resources can be tapped into by going online. By conducting a Web search and using such words as love poems or an author's name like Tennyson or Lord Byron, your search should result in some inspiring love poems.

In addition to going online, there are other resources that are available. These resources include your local bookstore or your public library. A small commitment of time over your lunch hour or during the early part of the evening will give you an opportunity to read some breathtaking love and romance poems. These reflections of endearment may stimulate your love for that special individual and allow you to express that devotion in your own words.

Reflecting

Another way of putting your own commitment and feelings down in the form of a love and romance poem is to take the time to reflect upon your relationship with another individual. Often we get very busy and wrapped up in our own day-to-day activities. Our hectic schedules prevent us from truly expressing what we feel. Therefore, it is important to just simply take time to reflect.

Questions surrounding that special person in your life could be the stimulus that will provide the words that you are looking for to capture how you feel. Questions such as what would my life be like without this other person in my life or what are the small things that the other person does that is appreciated? Another question to reflect upon would be if this was my last day with that person what would I want to say?

Putting Words to Paper

The final step in penning that love and romance poem is to put your thoughts down in writing. Remember, rhyming is not all that important. The words that you are conveying are simply the sincere and honest reflections of love that come straight from your heart.

In fact, your love and romance poem may start out by saying that you took time today to answer a meaningful question. You then could go on from that point and express your answers. These responses could be your love and romance poem to your beloved.
